Well either way, I find offence to that statement. Why is stating your beliefs online any different than outside. Web-ers need to be educated on the various opinions pertaining to this bill.

Well let’s say this bill stays in place, and then it doesn’t help. What will be the next action we take? Shooting people who may look like an undocumented immigrant. Or maybe it wont go that far, but to whomever doesn’t carry identification with them, will be questioned (if the cannot speak English, this would be utterly unfair) and if the questions to not live up to that ONE cop at that ONE time, they will be deported to country that isn’t even theirs. What about the children who came with their illegal parents to this country, and now are being deported back to a country they never stepped foot on, because of a choice their parents made. This bill allows margin for too much error based upon one cops decision at the time. I do agree that anybody in this country should be a legal citizen, however we will never, no matter what bills we pass, will completely contain our country. And why would we want that? We would be limiting our country from other cultures. And let’s remember our country is on stolen land, based on people who are immigrants themselves, and we were once a country based off of corruption and slavery. Shouldn’t we be moving forward into a land of tolerance and acceptance, one without boundaries and rules on who and who isn’t allowed into this country. Especially when the people who are coming into out country are just trying to make their lives and those of their family better. There is a chance that illegal immigrants can turn into criminals, but we can have the same of legal immigrants and citizens born in the USA. If we argue about the criminal aspect, we should get a handle on our own criminals before we focus on the what ifs.

Well people should be upset about the bill itself. On top of too much power for the government, like I said before it leaves too much margin for error. It inevitably will allow racial profiling because what is the color of mass amount of illegal immigrants in this state? Brown, Latino, Mexican, whatever you call it. Would a cop go up to a blond haired blue eyed girl walking to the super market in a mainly Mexican populated part of town asking for a green card? No! Would a cop go up to a Mexican male, with a wife beater and some Dickies and ask for a green card? Yes. If you say this is untrue, you are fooling yourself. It would be impossible to keep this bill working to the capacity that it was passed for if there was no racial profiling. Asking people who, to the cop, look like a legal American would waste time and money. Therefore, no matter what is in the fine lines of the bill says, racial profiling will take place and will be tolerated.

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with expressing your opinion, I just meant that the people who are sitting around complaining about what is happening should do something about it, rather than complain and hope that it will change. They should try to be part of that change.

Of course it would be wrong for things to go that far, but I agree with the way this is working right now. The bill isn’t as simple as one cops opinion, it would never work that way. If someone is wrongly accused (or forgets to bring identification or something like that) then that mistake will most likely be corrected. If an illegal immigrant has a kid here, that kid is a US citizen because they were born within our borders. Yea, they just may be deported with their parents, but they would be allowed to come back. And it would be shitty for a kid to suffer because of a mistake their parents made, but that happens all the time in plenty of other situations. It sucks but it happens already. And on saying that “there is a chance illegal immigrants can turn into criminals”, they already ARE criminals because they came here illegally, and they know it is illegal. They’re criminals as soon as they step across our border. Yes, we should get a handle on our own criminals, thats exactly what I’m saying. We should get a handle on everything in our country and worry about our citizens.

Its incredibly unrealistic to think that we can eliminate borders and boundaries and rules. The majority of the human population is incapable of that kind of unity without some kind of management, and no government would be able to handle that.

Let’s say it is racial profiling. Maybe thats just what needs to be done. Like you said the mass amount of illegals in this state are Mexican or whatever, so maybe that is what should be looked out for. A cop cannot just go up to any random person they see and think “they seem like they might be illegal, I’ll pull them over or stop them or whatever and find out” For a cop to even be able to ask a person to show that kind of documentation, they wouldve had to have a different reason to already stop the person, and that person would also need to be unable to provide other documents, like a license, for that cop to be allowed to ask. If someone gets pulled over for speeding, and then can’t provide a drivers license, and THEN the cop sees reason to ask about citizenship, its only at that point that they can ask. If it is racial profiling, then I agree with it.

 I think you’re both idiots, but ‘lilchris’ is a wee bit smarter than Chandra. First of all, with this whole immigration thing, you’ve overlooked one very simple fact. Legal immigrants have nothing to fear, only illegal immigrants. And it isn’t racial profiling if a majority of illegal immigrants are Mexican and you seek out that segment of the population in order to find and rid illegal immigrants. It is mundane idiocy that has allowed so much crime to go unpunished that is also calling this ‘racism’. First, Mexican is a nationality. Secondly, Mexico is the country bordering our country/state. Therefore, looking for Mexicans as illegal immigrants would simply be LOGICAL. Stop pulling the fucking race-card. If it was a bunch of white people no one would have one fucking problem with it.
